I desire to move down to mexico. I am a realtor here in Texas for 13 years. Would it be hard to make a living selling real estate in Playa del Carmen? Any ideas who to contact?

Trying to sell in the popular cities is impossible. Instead start by looking at the smaller secluded cities. For the tards with the stupid comments above.....go play in the highway. There are many opportunities to sell real estate in Mexico. 1) all the retirees are leaving this expensive fast pased country to slow down. At least untill they are ready for reality. 2)The best thing to do is to work for a real estate company here selling property there. For example, in Zacatecas which is no where near gorgeous beaches has large communtiies of German people. Many different places in Mexico are still "hidden." Little by little people will begin leaving this country. The baby boomers will start to retire. The closest, cheapest place to retire to is Mexico. Start your own company. As long as you have money to invest there is a chance to make money. It's just like selling here. There are risks wherever you are. Good luck.

Why not contact one of the larger Real Estate brokers in Mexico and ask. Maybe Century 21 or Caldwell Banker.

When you get outside of the US it gets tricky. I would contact a Mexican Real Estate Agency and get some information from them. Also check the Mexican government policy and see if it's legal.
Also really think about what your in for in Mexico- living there and not being a tourist is quite different!

It's going to be hard becuase the economy over there is not as well established as it is over here, I would recommend you to try Mexico city since it is the place where more rich people live in Mexico. Try to do a research.

Try working from the US selling in Mexico first.

In San Diego, CA there are some agents that also work in Baja, mexico
or you can move to Baja and work in San Diego (commute) while
you get established in Mexico. Later move to Cancun.

real estate market sucks right now... i live in LA and work as a loan consultant. work has been really slow & bad. I wouldn't suggest you move to mexico to sell real estate right now. i would wait a little longer & wait for things to pick up.
