Seriously, engineers with the skills you are talking about are called Presidents and CEO's. Follow your heart. Maybe after a while in engineering, you'll want to go for your JD. Those folks retire in the lap of luxury.

Talk with a career counsellor at the college or school and explain what you are interested in doing. I wonder if there would be a way to combine these two interests. For instance, could you specialize in engineering expertise of law, or use your interest in law within the engineering field?

Hi there, well I Think you should follow your heart and do what you really like not what other people are telling or wanting you to do. In my opinion, Lawyers are helping people. Yet, do you wanna spend the rest of your life around people who are feeling sad.most people who seek lawyers are at a very low point in their life and are not in a happy mood. I think it's better to build something and or design something that might bring joy to others, than to spend he rest of your life trying to make sad people happy. Same thing goes for Medical Doctors. So whatever you pick I wish you all the luck in the world :O)

Think about this..... You have the ability to convince people right? You like engineering right? You'll make more money in business for yourself as an electrical engineer. If you have the power of pursuasion, we call it "the gift of gab" in the car business, then you can pursuade them to spend more money with you than they would with someone else and you'll be doing something you love. It's no secret you'll make more doing what you love because you have passion about your work. Don't do something other people think you should do. FOLLOW YOUR HEART!

Ask to yourself "lawyer or elect" without thinking and as fastest you can answer it. Go for the one your brain told you to. I don't know how long those 2 careers are. But if you really have the strength, will, dedication, and time! you might wanna try do both. You would be a super prepared person, pleasing you and others.

You should do the one that interests you the most, the one you're best at, the one that will give you a good standard of living & the free time to enjoy it.
Which one do you think you would be happy doing in 20 years time
Once you have answered these questions you should be able to see which job is better for you now and in the future

you should do what YOU like, and if you like electrical engineering than you should go for it. the power to convince people and oratory will help you to become the leader of a team of engineers, or a departament in an electrical company etc.

What would you do if you wouldn't get paid for doing it. That would be your main focus. The other thing do as a part-time thing.
I spent my whole life studying to be a world class chef, but after years of getting licensed, sickness kick me out of the Food Service Industry. I can still cook for a small family, but who could afford my experience cost. I loved poetry and would do it for free. With all my sickness it's the one thing that is supporting me right now even while I am getting sicker and sicker.

I'm no expert on careers but it's unlikely that you enjoy engineering so much if you're not good at it (you imply you're better at the skills needed for law). In the end, you might be doing it for the rest of your life so whatever you do, it ought to be something you enjoy.

Go with what you like more! You will enjoy your work more if it's something you like. Being a lawyer will pay well, but will burn you out when you get tired of it. Use your powers of convincing people to convince your friends you're right!
