Because those people haven't actually read the Bible.. so they think they are responding correctly but they aren't. Although the Bible is the truth. It's up to you.. You won't see the truth till your ready.
They will see but not see.. they will hear but not hear.

Some people take the term from the Bible "go among the people and spread my word" as to litterally cram it down others throats.
God nor the Bible ever intented the message to be delivered in such a fashion. As this fashion normally just pushes more away from the message of the Bible.
And since recent events are lining up with what the Bible speaks of as the "end of days", many people are running around with their heads cut off just telling all that they see to get with God and the Bible. They do this thinking that they will be rewarded for a good thing/deed.
Just smile and say thanks. Anything past that will just cause more.

I think that I can answer that without trying to persuade you either way. Some people become "pushy" when two things are present; (1) they are so devoted to Christ and their soul is on fire to love and serve Him (2) the person is so eager to share God's word with someone who hasn't heard, they lose good intentions and end up disturbed when someone doesn't accept Him just on their witnessing.
This is not what God wants us to do. This is not what we are taught to do in a Bible Study. What the Bible says is a true account of how our world started, developed and was saved by Jesus Christ. His miracles were so intense and powerful that many people can't help but to be "on fire" for Him.
Forgive those who have been so pushy that they have left a negative taste behind. One thing is for certain, you are loved by God! But, you will accept Him at the right time, not when you are forced into believing in Him.

They are told that conversion is a really good thing and the more people you bring to Jesus the better. So they try and convert people by relating everything to the bible etc. Not the best approach to be sure but perhaps they think if they get one out of a thousand they have done their job. You just happen to be one of the 999 who doesn't.

As a Christian, It is my duty to spread God's word to those who are not believers. I don't shove it down anybody's throat, but I do share the good news that Christ died on the cross for all of us, because he loves us all so much. The Bible says "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel."

I don't think it is right for someone to push the Bible down people's throats. But the Bible does say in John 3:18:
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

There are two answers to your question, depending on the type of person who's responding.
One type honestly believes that he/she is trying to help you. That person believes with all his/her heart that they are right, and that, if only they try hard enough, they could get you to see what they consider to be the truth, as well. That's all well and good, and I can respect that, even if I don't agree with their brand of the truth.
The other type is a conflicted person with a combination of a superiority complex *and* an inferiority complex all rolled into one. The former is the cause of the pushing and shoving and all of the You're-Wrong-And-I'm-Right-And-You-Better-Believe-Me-Or-You'll-Roast-In-Hell speeches. It doesn't help that the bible teaches that its followers are the elite of the world. The latter inferiority complex is the cause of all the beliefs to begin with, and what causes them to cling to that elitist message. They need something to cling to, and something to blame their own mistakes on, so they find religion and use it as a crutch.

Everyone wants to have power. Some people get it through politics, others get it through having a good job or lots of money. But some people can't have those things, so they have to find a way to have power over other people in another way. This is how religion was born (or at least Judeo-Christian religion).
