Smoking not only restricts the flow of blood and oxygen through the bodies capillaries, which sperm needs for it to survive, but smoking feeds poisons into the body that helps weaken it's defenses!

I don't know about lowering sperm count, but it can cause impotency. Probably for the same reason, blood vessel restriction and lack of oxygen rich blood.
