If you love your baby's daddy and you two are a couple, you stay with him. You don't go to the dinner. Your man feels intimidated by this guy. You're just creating problems and jealousy and mistrust by going. Basically, you'd be cheating. Not because you've done anything officially, but because in your heart you like this other guy and you know he likes you and THAT is still cheating. Not a good idea to put yourself into a tempting position.

If you don't love your baby's daddy and you are not together, then go and have a fun time at dinner with this other guy.

What have you got to lose if you go? You're having this guy's baby, and if he can't cope with you meeting an old friend AS A FRIEND then perhaps you shouldn't be with him. If you don't go - well, you don't have that much to lose then either, but you might regret it or lose a friend. You're definitely not failing the relationship if you go, as long as it is definitely and clearly as friends. Like I said, if your partner can't cope with you meeting an old friend, even if it is someone he dislikes, then I don't think much of him.

If you are having a child with someone, then he should be your first priority.... you two are starting a family together. For the best interest of your baby, focus on your current relationship... growing & maturing with the man you are with.
You shouldn't involve yourself with another man, especially one that you have underlying feelings for. If your boyfriend doesn't like you spending time with another guy, why would you do it? Do you not care if you hurt his feelings or disrespect him?
How would you feel if your boyfriend went out with a female friend that he had underlying feelings for, and she for him?

You have made a choice and now you have created a child. You have an obligation to this child to give your relationship with it's father 100% of you attention.

I would say don't do anything that may jeapordize your budding family and focus on your baby.

I'd say you SHOULD go... But tell him to bring a date and bring 'the father.' It will give a subtle hint that you can't do anything with him or get involved... AND you can still see him! It won't be so akward, or so fake. You guys can just have fun!
