There is not much information about a correlation between smoking and acne, although many smokers agree that their skin has cleared up when they quit. The exact cause of acne has continued to evade researchers. Many physicians and nutritionists believe that diet affects acne. Try eating lots of roughage, salads, bran, and at least eight glasses of water a day to keep your digestive tract moving, and to ease your skin's responsibility of absorbing the wastes your alimentary tract can't handle. Diets high in fat and sugar contribute to acne, and food allergies may also play a role. If your acne seems out of control, see a dermatologist to work out a regimen you can live with. Dermatologists are available as part of the Health Services by appointment . Otherwise, watch your diet, keep your skin clean, and see about quitting smoking!

Yes, smoking takes oxygen away from the skin which leads to breakouts.

Oh, totally! You can't submit yourself to smoke and chemicals and expect that it won't do anything to your skin! Keep your face clean with a good unscented soap, use a lite sunscreen and avoid smoke, smog, and other pollutants like the plague!

There is. Smoking changes the hormones and PH balance. This can disrupt the skin and its normal function.
