Yes, depends on the cruise line. Just like an automobile, old people choose Chryslers and Ford Crown Victoria's while young people will drive Honda's, Acura's and the like. Then you will get some that are about equal in ownership, like BMW's and Mercedes. If your looking for a younger crowd for the most part try Carnival Cruise Lines. Midline crowd try Royal Carribean.

This isn't really gonna A your Q but I've been on a cruise a lil over a mo ago. It was a really small cruise. It was a 2 hr long cruise & they served us supper on it. For supper it cost something like $60 or $80/person !!! We drove around a lake & it took 2 whole hrs. (+ 15 min) It was only $15/person (well, for a cruise that takes 1 hr & 15 min that is) But this is a VERY small cruise ship. Nothing like the type you're talking bout. Not titanic-sized unfortunately. But, I did have an awesome time. It was alwayz one of my dreams to go on a cruise. Sure it wasn't that big but it's not really the size of the boat that matters. I loved every sec of it & me, my friend, her cuz & 1 or 2 of my sis's plan on going on that cruise on either July 24th or 26th. We're hoping that my sis can get one of those days off. It would be pretty awesome to go on a HUGE boat tho !!! Hopefully one day :) Oh, & my work also made it possible for me to go on a plane. But that's a really REALLY small plane. So small that there's no need for a flight attendant lol. Beside every window is 1 seat then the aisle Lol :P Hopefully one day soon I'll get to go on a HUGE plane. That was just a taste of what it's like to go on a plane. Oh, & the flight lasted only 40 min ! lol. By car it woulda taken 4 hrs. Just wanted to share w/ you :)

It really just depends on the line. For example, a line like Carnival tends to have younger people onboard. But, a line like Holland America tends to have an older crowd.
But for me, averaging out my previous cruises, I would say there are more older people onboard. But that being said, I would say around the ages of 35 to 55, not really old, but not really part of the younger crowd.
But again, it really depends on the line.

I went on a cruise a few years ago and it was mostly young and old couples...most people were either on their honeymoon, or they were celebrating their anniversaries

Old, according to my travel agent - 'cause they're the ones who can most afford it. Yes, there're a few under 30 on most cruises.

never been on one BUT hope to someday//
I assume there would be a mixture of people and ages,,,
the older one that can afford it and younger ones on thier honeymoon,,
the staff as well probably would be a mixture of ages
this is just a guess...
