first of all...KG has the willingness to work hard and try to lead his team to the championship...the problem is he isnt that good to start with...he doesnt have the post up game of olajuwan...his goto move is the face up jumper w/c is effective but not a dominant move...he doesnt know how to back his man down the rim...he doesnt have the big man moves where they use their pivot feet and do hook shot with either hand....and for a versatile forward he doesnt run the court as hard as would be expected from him...at 7'1 he doesnt block as much shots as he should...(kirilenko and marion have more blocks than him)...if you watched a young ralph sampson you will surely see the difference...sampson ran the court like aguard..and filled the break everytime...he was also always attacking the rim by trying to dunk it or trying to catch lob passes for dunks...he knew he had the height and speed advantage so he used it to the maximum potential...that's why they made it to the finals in his heyday....garnett is only superior when it comes to defensive rebounding....where all his teammates box out and he just jumps and gets the rebounds...his strength is also a major question mark...he almost always gets overpowered by thugs like reggie evans and francisco elson....for me he is still worth the max contract (nene and ty chandler got big bucks and theyr not that good)...but regarding trade value...if you want him you gotta know what ur gonna get...an above average forward that has to have a second superstar to excel and go deep in the playoffs...so at this stage of his career im willing to give up any secondary superstars...in the class of a marion, webber, ginobili, odom, etc plus a first rd draft pick...i wont trade my franchise player for KG straight up...(with exception of iverson)

^ Eros you're the one smoking crack. There is no doubt Garnett is still a great player.
And just today the Wolves signed Mike James so that they finally have a point guard. The last time they had a point guard (Sam Cassell) they went to the Western Conf. Finals.
And I'm not a Wolves fan I'm a Mavs and Spurs fan.

KG still is one of the best players in the NBA. I would offer him 10 million a year this way you'll have room for him to complement your star player (Kobe, Lebron etc;) Everyone on the team will be offered except my franchise player.

I would give up a Jermaine O'Neal
for a contract 7 million a year
He is still a very good player and can contribute for a while despite his age

not speaking in money terms, he is still a really good player on the court. the problem has always been that he doesnt have the support around him that he needs. i would still pay him to stay there if he wanted but in that case you have to give him some help and surround him with good players. you would have to be up for spending a lot of money and not just on him.

I would start a team with this guy. He is the highest quality guy in the NBA and a motivator more than any other player.
Yes he is getting older but look at Duncan...
He is and always will be the BIG TICKET....

Quite a bit. He's the third best player in the NBA next to Kobe and LeBron.
