I got a tattoo on my wrist 5 days ago and was told not to swim for 3 weeks until it heals. I'd like to continue swimming, so I'm looking for a way to waterproof the area. Anybody know how to effectively do this?

Thanks!

cover it with-vaseline and then a piece of plastic cut to size then several strips of skin tape to cover then wash it off after the fun or work out

you should wait at least a couple days more.. you should go to a drugstore near you and buy plastic patches.. I dont know what they are called.. but here is what you do

put vaseline on it, and a plastic patch above it.. since its in your wrist I would really make sure its stuck well or wrap it with medical tape.

I didnt believe it would affect the tattoo if i got in the water, but now I have to get it touched again because there is some discoloration now

vaseline on the area.. get ceram(or w.e its called) wrap.. the one u wrap food you know... and wrapp around it couple times.. then make sure u use water tape all over around so it doest get loose..

but ive seen friends try to do stuff with it so it would get wet and alot of them did.. if u put vaseline and accidently rub, it will get wet.. and most likely it will get infected..

so better off would be dont swim.. be patient.. its not going to kill you.. "to win one thing, you have to give up on others" cuz if u get it infected it will take much longer to get better..

good luck with your choice

yeah, i say give it at least a few more days. i recently had surgery, and had to stay out the water for at least 2 weeks.
