Absolutely. His hitting is right up there with many of the greats, he was always dangerous at the plate and not too shabby in the field, either.

Maybe some of the Hall of Famers on the Veterans Committee should not be so tight-aced about who belongs in the Hall.

1917 Hits and 220HR are not HOF numbers for an outfielder/4 year DH.

The HOF is for the greats of the game.

He was a good hitter (lifetime .304), you could make a case that leading the league in average 3 times and ROY make him a possible choice, but I don't think he should be in the HOF, no.

No - if someone has to think long and hard about his name and his career - then no he shouldn't - how long would you think about say Clemens or Ricky Henderson
