best method to keep voles out of vegetable gardens or control them?

I have had no problems with my vegetable garden until this past Sunday. Voles are starting to attack my corn. They are eating the stalk at the base.

We had a lot of problems with Voles once. We got a Jack Terrier Russel or whatever they are called and I haven't seen one since. We only had the dog for about a week or two too. Good luck.
