Ever since early childhood, i always thought i was ..big. Although bullemia and similar diseases are most often associated with women i think i have a trace of it. I have been going nuts over the past few years. I play on my school football team, i run 3 miles every day, and i enjoy going to karate and getting a good workout every few days. Im 5'5 and 123 pounds, I did this fat calculator, which read that i have 8% body fat, and im still like freaking out! I keep telling myself im not big, but i dont know, i just feel so weird...

you are doing great! 8% body fat is of an athlete, any lower is dangerous.

I am like over 20% body fat and if I had 8% body fat I would be doing back flips.

Take a look around you, and look at the obese world. You are in the top 5%.

You sound a lot like me. I'm 5'5" and i weigh 130. I'm 15 and the doctor says im right where i need to be on the growth chart. I'm considered normal. So if i am you am. Im also very self conscious and run at least 3 miles a day too. If you are playing football, running, and going to karate then you are physically active and in good shape. you have nothing to worry about. stay active and all will be fine.

Overweight?!?!?! I don't think so. At 5'5, you should be a little heavier than what you are right now. You should check you BMI (Body mass index) It isn't the most accurate thing in the world but it gives you an idea and I'm pretty sure it won't say your overweight. And 8% body fat is low. I wouldn't worry if I were you.

I think the problem isnt with your weight or size, its all in your head. You arent going to stop being so critical of yoursel fon your own. So you may want to talk to someone, a counselor, someone like that. Look at the numbers, 8% is NOT fat. Give your self credit for the hard work you do in football practice, working out and in running (though you may want to be cautious and not over do it-the exercising and running I mean.)

At 5'5" 123 pounds is perfect. Don't change a thing. Don't try to look like the models on the magazine covers. They have to starve themselves and they are totally miserable. That is why so many of them turn to drugs.

Omg your so thin! I'm a girl and all, and I'm 5'6" and 117 pounds. Your too thin for that level of activity. You should try and keep up the exercise, but add some more carbs to your diet. Eat plenty of protein, but add in fiber and grains. Good Luck♥

at 5'5" and 123 lbs you are the correct weight, assuming you are at least 18 years old

I am sure of it as this is what I do for a living (I am a nutritionist)

what type of fat calculation did you use? they very in effectiveness.

if you are very concerned that you have a psycological issue concerning weight please speak to a theripist that knows how to handle weight related issues, but at your current weight if you came to see me I would not suspect anorexia nervosa (you weigh too much) or bulima (you don't weigh enough)

OMG....you're scaring me!!! You definately do not sound like you need to be concerned about your weight or size. What do your parents and/or doctor think? Get help if you still think you are overwight or too big because it doesn't sound like you are even remotely close to a point where you should be concerned. Good luck and you're probably find exactly as you are.

If your 5'5 and 123 pounds then you are not over weight. Plus you seem to be very active, I would not worry so much if I were you.
