It SUCKS because the population of the U.S. is so much higher than Canada's, it would wipe out Canadian democracy and destroy the things that are most important to us as a sovereign nation, such as universal health care. What if George W. Bush was "president" of Canada and we had to go to war with Iraq? Our Prime Minister is a bone head too, but at least he's not on the war path. Good grief.

It would eliminate "illegal Mexicans" and the over production of food in this country could feed all the Mexicans that aren't doing well. Maybe some of Canada's friendliness and tolerance would rub off on the U.S. I don't know if I would be in favor of it, because it would probably drive down wages for a few years, but with globalization and environmental issues, we are all part of each others' problems, so we should be part of each others' solutions. It might make sense to do this, it is working in Europe just fine.

I think that the moment any hint of an idea of something like this was leaked to the general public in the U.S., there would be a public outcry the likes of which have never been seen.
Whomever initiated it who was in office at the time wouldn't be there long, I guarantee that.

Bush signed it last year! Nasco is already underway in Texas! Mexican Soveriegnty is Kansas City is almost complete!

I think it's a great idea. It would take a visionary regime to fully realize this idea. I think it has already begun with NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement).
