If you are talking about the old western town of Tombstone, Arizona (site of the gunfight at the OK Corral), than unfortunately there is nothing very scary there at all anymore (and not that much of historic interest).

It has become a popular tourist destination over the last 20 years and unfortunately the town has largely decided to cash in on it by taking the 'low road' of creating a very fake, cartoonish amusement park experience rather than the 'high road' of maintaining building's historic character and the town's flavor. For example, one of the largest buildings on the main street was recently painted a bright pink and turquoise and the famous Boot Hill Graveyard has very fake looking gravestones and little audio speakers all over the place playing cowboy music and having the cowboys talk. Nearly all the businesses are gaudy gift shops or equally hokey resturants or snack bars.

It has got so bad, that some parts of town are in danger of loosing their historic landmark status. The couple of places that still have some historic/ghostly flavor are the old Courthouse (site of several hangings - now a musuem) and the Bird Cage Theater (one of the few that has done a good job of keeping the original character). Don't get me wrong - I still like Tombstone in all its cheap glory and probably stop by once a year or so, but visitors should go with the understanding that they are visiting a tourist trap more than a historic site.

If you are in the area and want to visit some place with a lonely/ghostly historic feel, there are much better places nearby. The nearby copper mining town of Bisbee has many historic buildings, and while also a popular destination, has done a better job. The Copper Queen Hotel (built in 1902 and said to be haunted by some) with creaking stairs and old balconies would probably give you more of the feeling you are looking for. Nearby is the famous Shady Dell Trailer Park where you can stay in a restored 1950s-60s travel trailer and the place is sitting all alone right next to the old historic cemetary. The place looks like the setting for some 1950s horror or Sci-Fi movie.
