There's a particular poster here who keeps saying that we have the right to marry...someone of the opposite sex. So I'm asking 'Why can I marry the one I LOVE?' That makes a little bit more sense to me. I don't have the option of marrying someone of the opposite sex, because I am not attracted to anyone of the opposite sex, so I do not have the right to marry. No religious bs, please. I do not believe in the same God as you.

Here we go again....If homosexuality is such a sin in your religion, Emily, then don't do it, otherwise get a clue and get out of the GLBT section. Park your hatred in somebody else's driveway. I don't believe in the same God as you. Did I not say no religious bs? Answer the question, or go away.

Marry whomever you love. And like another poster said, you might have to go out of state to do that....you could even come up to Canada to get married. I heard a number of couples opted to do that. It's perfectly legal at the moment for gay couples to get married here.
And why wouldn't it be better for people to be in loving, committed relationships than stuck with someone of the opposite sex....it would also be better for any children you decide to have in the future to have loving parents of any gender...oops, I suppose I just opened another can of worms :)

First i would like to ask what GOD do you serve?
Because there is only one and he doesnt approve of same sex marriage, its unethical and against his will, i for one am not here to judge you, because i have sins of my own. but maybe you should do some soul searching and come to terms with who you are. because if being gay or lesbian is so great as many claim, then why be ashamed of the many things that yall are ashamed of? ( again its a question and i am not out to judge) but you already know that if your not marrying the opposite sex that it will be hard for you to marry because theres laws against it.
so just think about what is being said instead of jumping to conclusions.
God is a God of love and there is only one GOD!

God hates homosexuality. Oh, and plus it's unnatural. Why do you think they make wedding rings for men and wedding rings for women? Why are there "his and her" towels? You are just messing with the system. If you aren't attracted to the opposite sex, then don't date or marry. God made you to marry the opposite sex, not just whoever you happen to "love".

Well it will depend on the laws of your state.
Marriage is actually a social contract that allows for your community to recognize you as a family unit.
governments provide certain benefits/liabilities for this status.
If you desire to be "married" then you have to find a place that allows it. If you simply want recognition, then let the people you care about know who you are with and that you are committed.

If nobody kept me from marrying my ex-husband they shouldn't be keeping people of the same sex from getting married. It was the biggest mistake of my life, I wish somebody had stopped me.
I think the church is afraid of what same sex marriage will do to the marriage/divorice statistics. Making those moral Christians look bad.

Well technically we do have the right to marry. What we don't have are the benefits provided by the government. That is what we are all fighting for. You should join us...

Our day will come.
In the meantime, I believe in the one God, and he loves all his children.
Some of his Children don't see it that way, but He will show them the light.
