Have you tried getting a job and saving your money? Just a suggestion! Since you apparently can't afford it, don't even think of moving there..The welfare rolls are overcrowded as it is and you'd probably end up on the streets. Take it from one who knows. A "fixer-upper" house in many areas of the state runs well over $500,000. You could maybe rent one room with no heat for $600-$750.00 per month. Do you want to line up daily for meals and a possible shower? Homeless people there sleep wherever they can...at the Salvation Army, in "squats" ( empty old houses) under freeway overpasses, and beside railroad tracks. Despite its sunny and blissful reputation, California is not a good place to be if you are down and out. Actually, no place is. Whatever security you have where you are, hold on to it. The grass is NOT greener anywhere else, believe me. And wherever you go, YOU'LL still be with you!

California is highly over rated and the people are hard to find unless your willing to conform to being an idiot. Perhaps what you need is just a different neighborhood? There are churches that have youth groups..(I almost said gangs) who will help you move accross town.

Don't do it. Houses are too darned expensive here. If you don't already have money and a job waiting for you in California, you should reconsider the move.
