I like Canadians just fine. But I am jealous, I would sure love a government that was more liberal and caring about it's people and less about war. I would really like health care too, just in case.

I don't know of many Americans that hate or dislike Canadians. Now that I'm thinking about it I've actually never heard anyone say anything mean about Canadians. I even lived in Detroit for a while and there's that whole rivalry with hockey and what not...and I still didn't hear anyone say anything mean. I wish we had national healthcare like Canada has. That's the only thing I'm jealous about.

There is neither a reason to hate nor be jealous of Canadians. Although there are some people in The United States who do both, I dare say the number is no higher than the amount of Canadians who hate or are jealous of Americans.

A lot of Americans really do dislike the country of Canada or Canadians but in particular French Canadians. I think the word you meant is envious not jealous (2 different meanings). Myself, I don't feel hatred towards Canada or Canadians and I don't see a single thing to be envious of.

You must be smoking something.
Most Americans like Canada and Canadians. Love the beer, hockey, great cities, beautiful country. Give us more of that canadian oil too--- 8-)
And jealous of what? Some things are better in the US and some things are better in CA.

Neither. Americans like Canadians, but they aren't jealous of them, either. Canadians have a lot to be proud of: a national health care system, clean and safe cities, and friendly people, for the most part.

I don't think that Americans dislike Canadians. They're just like Americans only more boring.

I have never met an American who had any idea why they make fun of Canadians, it seems more a silly tradition than anything! My Canadian peers are well liked, but are jovially given a hard time for joke's sake. They don't miss a beat, and taunt Americans just as easily and in good humor.

What a ridiculous question. How could you possibly think that a whole group of civilized people would dislike or even be jealous of a whole group of other people that are strangers?
Most Americans (I am one of them) are thankful for our Canadian neighbors. They have a beautiful country and are a kind and decent people. We will never forget how they graciously accepted our planes stranded in the air on 9/11 and helped our people with food & shelter while our country dealt with the terrorist attacks.
And we love to cross the border to visit their cities and their wilderness. We also welcome them to our country as visitors and friends.

actually i think americans like canadians alot more than canadians think. first off you guys arn't trying to get into the country illegally every day. we share niagra falls in NY. There's alot of people i know that go up to Canada all the time so if they hated canadians they wouldn't go up there. plus alot of celebrities are from Canada. so if they really disliked canadians then they would hate Jim Carey, Pamala Anderson,Mike Myers,Alex Tribeck, Paul Shaffer.....

Most Americans don't know or care to know much about Canada (or any other country) and are too busy living their lives to sit around thinking about Canadians long enough to form any opinion, good, bad or otherwise.
