Mine is more of a tax-realted change but I would like to see the social security tax income ceiling lifted. Currently, someone making $100,000 a year pays the same exact dollar amount that someone that makes $10,000,000 a year.
As far as on an international level, I am a free trade kind of guy. If I were a business that needed timber, and I could get timber from Canada for half as much as I could from a US company (assuming the same level of service), I am gonna do business with the Canadian company.

I would disagree with you on NAFTA and WTO. But would revise both and make sure we have better trade deals.
Would also require that we have sensible laws/practices to balance the budget. 8+ Trillion dollars is a joke.

One of the first things Bill Clinton did was implement a system called PAY AS YOU GO for government spending = balanced budget that resulted in a surplus.
One of the fist things Bush did was discontinue this system = large deficits.
So my obvious choice would be to reimplement that system.

Disallow that idiotic change to the Bankruptcy Act that came on stream last year. If tin-mes turn bad there will be a very large part of the middle class and poorer classes who WILL BECOME PAUPERS in the flash of an eye!

A flat tax - There are so many tax loopholes, we need to overhaul our system and make it simple: a flat rate on either what you spend or how much you make or both. It is honest and fair.
Steve Forbes is a big promoter of this idea and it just makes a lot of sense to me. Check out the following links if you are interested.

... lot of good ideas on here... and I'm not a big fan of NAFTA either... but, ideally, of course we would have no way to enforce it, I would like to see some very strict enforcement of U.S. companies actions overseas... I think a lot of ill will is created by sweatshops that use people as basically slave labor in third-world countries...

Elimination of the estate tax. And no, I haven't got enough money to make a significant difference in my estate.
