Microdermabrasion actually works very well. It can be done in doctors office or you can purchase a kit and do it yourself. It is basically the same thing but much cheaper. Mary Kay has a good Mirocermabrasion kit and now you can request a free sample to try before you even purchase. go to this site http://www.marykay.com/s_azad/default.aspx and on right hand side click on get a free sample

My own experience with microdermabrasion was that it worked well in the short term, but in the long run I would have rather put that money towards a more permanent treatment. When I graduated high school, I used all my graduation money to pay for 6 microdermabrasion treatments (i had acne scars). It helped to an extent... but in my case, not enough to make very much of a difference. A couple years later, I had a treatment called Blue Light with Levulan. 3 treatments of that cost slightly more than all the microdermabrasions I had, but worked MUCH better and is permanent as well. Good luck =)

I have done a sample at a Mary Kay party on my hand before and it worked great, I haven't had the chance to buy the kit but it was reasonable at 55 dollars, in the salon or beauty shops it is much more expensive and probably works about the same.

I have not had it, but my friends had and they loved it. The only reservation that I have is that the skin looks completely red and irritated after the treatment. Also, recovery can be long and painful. Also, bear in mind that the person who does this for you must be an expert. Ask them how many times they have done it for people and what some of the negative consequences were.
