I agree with this. I know it means alot to those 1 or two people, but when a person with a undetermined medical condition has trouble out of the 7.5 million there there is no problem. I found out last month at local carnival I have issues with motion sickness that I was not aware of. I rode the swings...the ones that just spin in a circle. Half way through the ride I started to realize I was not right. I do not blame the ride because I know what it is. I blame me and not knowing my body as well as I should.

I don't think that the rides at Disney are dangerous. I think that some people just don't use common sense. They ignore the ride's signs and warnings, then when something bad happens, want to blame someone else. What has happened to the people that passed away was terrible, and my heart goes out to them. However, did the person take a chance by riding the ride? Should they have gone on the ride in the first place? Did they ignore the warnings? Who's fault is that? I love going to Disney, my kids love to go, and I will continue to take them without fear.

its not the rides that killed the people, its the heart defects and other health problems that did them in. The excitement/g-forces of the ride coupled with the pre-existing health problems is what caused those people to die or faint. If you are in good health, then you should have no problems with the rides in DisneyWorld, or any other amusement park for that matter. (and for the record DisneyWorld isn't the only park where injuries, illness, and/or death have occured, it can happen anywhere).

You answered your own question. One out of 7.5 million is REALLY low odds of dying. Yes, people can and do get hurt or even killed on any ride at any amusement park, but in all cases, it's extremely rare. Take care of yourself, make sure you don't have any conditions (heart especially) and then don't do anything stupid like stand up on the ride, and you'll be just fine.

Disney World's rides are not dangerous. The people who have died at Disney World were killed by pre-existing health conditions, that may or may not have previously known about. That is why I urge everyone visiting any theme park, Disney or otherwise, to have a check up, and assure themselves that are in a good condition to handle the rides at these parks.

Several friends of mine work WWW parks and the maintenance
schedule is gruesome. They are probably the best maintained rides, mechanically. I worry about those traveling fairs and carnivals that skip town before state inspectors can check them out.
Our local news follow the stories closely and I believe two out of three incidents are due to unknown medical problems of the guest and one case was directly because of poor adult decision making putting a child in a dangerous situation.

I think people should just read the signs posted at each ride. If they know they have a problem, then they shouldn't risk riding the particular ride. If they are unsure, same answer applies. I think the events surrounding the Mission Space Ride, have only made it that more appealing to people.

It is extremely rare for someone to die on a ride that is the RIDES FAULT. The people that have died have had preexisting conditions that were aggravated by the ride. But what seems strange is that everyone that has died at Disney usually have rare heart conditions. If its rare then how come so many people have had it, and just happened to have been at Disney.... just seems strange to me.

I don't think the rides themselves are the danger. It is the risk or riding one when you have a medical condition. Unfortunately for some people they aren't aware of their condition until it is too late.

Well I wouldn't drink the water from any of the "rivers" in the rides.... and crowds kind of make me anxious.
But all together ...Yeah I think they are safe. I think I have a lot higher chance of dying from sliping in my own shower. Or eating questionable food at a pot luck.
