Seems to me, over the past couple of years some of the great musicians have passed. Johnny Cash, Buck Owens, Syd Barrett. BB King is 81, Buddy Guy is an old fart, Bo Diddly, etc....

I realize it's time to pass the torch and bring up some new ones again, but WHO is worthy to carry such a torch?

Wow, you forgot to mention John Lee Hooker; and Etta James (who is still around); but you gotta look and you will find - Shannon Curfman; Johnny Lang; K.T. Turnstall who is multi instrumental (and performs like David Byrne of the Talking Heads); Damone (looks interesting in an 80's type rock area); Susan Tedeschi; and Gavin DeGraw who does a great cover of Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come".

A lot of people think Wayne Gretzky can do anything, but we'll just leave him with hockey hahaha .... otherwise ?? There are so many great ones in the past couple decades, but for one that really stands out above all others ?? Will have to get back to you on that one.

Depends on your taste. Clapton, Dylan, Corea., Santana, Brubeck. Plenty of guys still around. Expand yourself.

Well it depends on what type of music you are talking about.

If you listen to "house" music...then absolutely not!! Just give Internet radio a listen....because the 'mixes' that can be found out there are pretty original.

Excellent question. When I turn on the radio anymore, it all sounds the same to me, no matter whether it is Top 40, R & B, country, whatever. I find myself reaching for my CD's more often than not.

music isn't dying. if you listen really close you can still hear some good music. it's just being drown out by a bunch of MTV crap.
