Is it that bad of a place to work for? There are quite a few Targets in my area and the workers there are just plain mean. Is it that miserable of a place to work for?

Actually, I think Target gets paid above minimum wage. Does anyone know for sure?

I actually worked in retail most of my life, so I know what it's like dealing with the public. It just seems like Target in particular has really rude people working for them.

I've never had a problem with employees at KMart. I've actually switched from shopping at Target to strictly KMart because of the nasty attitudes at Target.

Most stores have employees like that. No one gives a crap about customer service anymore.

Target does pay alright (for a retail job) and it is above minimum wage. It is not a bad place to work. You can find bad workers anywhere... That is just life. Target is MUCH better than KMart or Walmart, I can't imagine how anyone could even question that...

Sometimes the associates are just exhausted from working long hours. I used to work retail at a department store a couple of years ago and when you work long hours into late in the evening, you start to get a little cranky. Especially if you aren't getting paid far near enough for the work that you do. Put that on top being in a loud store for 8+ hrs a day with screaming children and having to pick up after lazy shoppers that have no common courtesy and knowing that when you get off of work there's more work to be done at home...you'd be miserable too!

The most miserable employees I'v had contact with are all working at K-Mart.

Employees at our Target are more oblivious than miserable.

I find the same problem at a local Farmer Jack grocery store. They need to give their employees happy drugs or something. I think FedEx does that...

Most of them are thinking "If only I had stayed in school and got my diploma".
