Yes. In fact, a few friends and I have a plan that involves taking over a Wal-Mart for a near infinitie amount of supplies, and surrounding the place with rubble and used cars, to create an impentrable fortress... Of Awesome... I would like to go into further detail, but then I'd have to kill you... Again.

In the event of a zombie-related emergency, there's no better prescription for survival than preparedness. Thinking ahead, and stocking a few essential items are your best bets to surviving the zombie nightmare. However, the sad fact is that most people would be caught completely off-guard in such an event.

Items to have on hand: a shotgun and ammunition (easily the most versatile weapons for dispatching the walking dead), a machete or baseball bat (firearms are great, but blades and clubs don't run out of ammo), water (3 gallons per person, per day), first aid kit, a supply of any prescriptions you might be taking, non-perishable food (protein bars, canned goods, evaporated milk, etc.) sturdy walking shoes, a knife, a map of your area, a compass (learn how to use it!), an emergency radio, a backpack.

If you live in a metropolitan area, evacuate as soon as you learn of the emergency. The longer you stay in the city, the greater the chance you have of being trapped there. It is helpful beforehand mark out an evacuation route. Stay away from highways and major roads if possible, as there will be traffic jams caused by other evacuees trying to leave the city. If no alternate routes are available, it may be better to travel on foot. Make sure you have a designated meeting place outside of the city where your family can meet.

Once out of the city, get as far away from other people as possible. State or national parks and reserves are great, as long as no one else is around. You might want to learn a little about the vegetation in your area so that you know which plants are safe to eat. Listen to the radio for information about the emergency situation, and when it might be safe to return to your home.

Stay alert! Zombies move slowly and seem inept and unintelligent, but it's easy to be lulled in to a false sense of security. You might see only one zombie, but there may be twenty more just over the next hill, or around the next corner. Always assume that if there is one zombie, there may be more. And don't try to destroy every zombie you meet--your job is survival, not extermination. Leave that to the professionals. Only engage one of them if you are directly threatened by it.

In the event of a protracted zombie crisis, you may need to scavenge food and supplies. Travel to a small town or village, find what you need, and don't get greedy. The less time you spend in these places the better.

With advanced preparedness, coolheadedness, and clear-thinking, you can survive this menace. Remember: Be Prepared, Stay Alert, and Stay Alive!

Yes, and if you aren't ready, I would suggest the book: The Zombie Survival Guide : Complete Protection from the Living Dead.

It might just save your life.

PS: Learn how to use a machette or a sword. Those never run out of bullets...

Hmm.... I likely can't get my fingers on a proper sidearm in time, so.... --Get in better structure on the stairwells. Stair runs for cardio; push-ups, sit down-united statesand chin-united statesfinished on the incline of the steps for skill practise. Lame, in spite of the indisputable fact that it beats no longer some thing, and it is going to strengthen me up too. --Make some ordinary and cheap body armor. some thing that'll keep me from being noshed on without delay. --And...top off on spears and torches. ^__^ Doing it the former-college, medieval, not basic way. *lol* And lasting all of two seconds doing it.
