i know that anal sex damages the muscles, and that vaginal sex stretches them out also, but is performing oral sex in any way damaging to health?

Deep throating is not bad for your health unless your tonsils become red or inflamed. ANY sex is damaging if u or your partner is active and not protected with other partners. Stretching the muscles is not necessarily damaging unless rips and tears become present or irritated. This should and can be avoided with proper lubrication. Gag reflex could be interfering with deep throating or oral sex but here is a fix for that http://www.dentalfearcentral.org/gagging_dentist.html
And with any sex u should protect yourself, USE DENTAL DAM! http://www.sexhealth.org/safersex/dentaldam.shtml

Hope this Helps

Oral sex is a huge contributor to temporal-mandibular joint dysfunction (aka TMJ, TMD). It can result in jaw pain, clicking jaw, and general misalignment of the jaw. My advice, use more hand and less "throat" and everyone will be happy.

I'm still "performing" extensive research on that, but I haven't found any adverse effects on any of the many women I've tested .............other than a big smile ! lol !
