No.

I believe they'll last longer in a cool, dry climate than in a hot wet climate, but the hemisphere itself makes no difference at all.

Not necessarily, there are many other factors to condider beside climate and weather conditions. For example, how often is the electronic gadget used?

Other way around. Cold weather is harder on batteries.
