Sorry for your loss. Weather you are young or older it will take time. Take time to grieve over your loved one. There is no set time for this but you will feel better as time goes on. This is a time of change for you. Don't compare yourself to a divorced person. They usually start dating right away as there was no love in the marriage. I imagine you loved your spouse and that it will take time for you to let yourself fall in love again. Be of good cheer and stay active. It helps.

Did you lose him through death or divorce, not that that should make a difference, except one is because you make the decision to leave the marriage and the other is because it was time for your spouse to go. Both cases involve loss. Both involve sadness and depression because of the loss. I believe if you want to be with someone else, then eventually you will. Right now it sounds like you may be depressed and feel hopeless about life. The age old saying, time has a way of making us forget our pains, is true. Try to believe in yourself that life still holds many great people for you to meet. Your life will still go on and you will be happy again.

Yes, it can and will happen. I lost my wife 4 years ago after a brief illness. Never thought I could ever consider another relationship, yet I am in one now. Don't know if it will lead to marriage but that's not what I'm looking for at the moment. The only important thing to remember is to take your time. Don't worry about whether or not you will love again. Be happy with yourself. Everything else will follow in due time.

Good luck and God bless you!

You will in time. Right now find some hobbies to enjoy and get past the loss. Some times you can meet someone while enjoying your hobbie. Then get back out there online even and start dating again.
