Sorry, ma'am, it's genetic. That's right, you gave it to your children, just like my mom did. Fortunately, there's some good news...

Ohhh, shiny.

No! That may give a kid tons of energy, but that certainly doesn't mean that they have or will get adhd!
They think there's some genetic component, or an overdiagnosis of ADHD.
There is no one direct cause of ADHD that any research can prove, although there are alot of studies that have been done over the years that have blamed everything from parent's genes, to bad bad parenting styles, sugar, caffiene, fructose in kids diets, too much tv, stuff in the water etc.

No, sugar is not the cause, but sugar can and will get a person with ADHD more active. Sugar is poison for a ADHD person, so one has to be very vareful with the food and what contains sugar.

Actually if the person really has ADHD caffiene does not affect them, it has a reverse effect on them, But it depend on what type of ADHD, inatentive, or hyperactivity. I have inatentive and its not fun, but by drinking coffee, my grades dramaticly improved and i stay more focused during the day. Try it and see if it helps, unless this is a small kid you are talking about then this is just typical behavior, unless its seiriously out of control. Good luck!
