If a 64-bit is of no concern for you then performance wise and for longer battery life go for a Core Duo. If you want to run Windows x64 and 64-bit applications then you will have to get an AMD processor as the Intel Core Duo processors are not 64-bit capable. I just got a Core Duo laptop and I think as far as laptops are concerned, Intel makes the better processor. Desktops are another story.

Amd is by far the better chip, even tho the intel chip is great also,
And just what applications you want to run will depend on what chip you want to get.
I have run amd for years and years without all the drama the intel chip users have had to go through, and still today am using an amd 64 3000+ with 2 gigs of memory backing it up, rarely a failure in any app's at all.

you receives many advices as AMD Turion sixty 4 cellular ML-34 is a more suitable useful one yet sa an experience component i'd favor to say AMD is sturdy for top end procedures yet for familiar use actual INTEL PENTIUM IV 5.3 GHz twin center is often superb.

Intel hands down. I had an HP comp with an AMD chip and hated it. Luckily HP still offers Intel processers.
Good Luck!
