That it is not owned by anyone.
That we need to take care of it.
That it is a gift from the Great Spirit.
That it is our Mother.
That we honor it.
That as we protect and care for it, it will protect and care for us.

Firstly, Native Americans were not and are not a homogenous group with a unified worldview. Secondly, Read Vine Deloria's scholarly works on aspects of spirituality and attitudes to land. Thirdly, regarding what would be seen as environmentalism - look at understandings of rebirth, and at creation myths - all is integrated and important. Fourthly, places can be more sacred at certain times that at others. Fifthly, women typically worked the land and controlled that sort of food production - power in the domestic! Sixthly, North America is huge and land use varied greatly according to regions, so you must ask what bit of land you talk about.

This is what I got many many many moons ago. When the Dutch bought Manhattan from the Indians they thought they were getting a deal for twenty four dollars in beads and trinkets. The Indians, on the other hand, thought they were getting a deal, because they thought the land belonged to everyone, and no one.
Go figure!!

They depended on it for many things aside the obvious which was food. They depended on Her for shelter, clothing and much more.
and during the time of ran hide, they used her outbrought for their defence.

a lot distinct. see, even as different minorities are attempting to be equivalent to whites section human beings purely favor something else of you to leave us on my own to be who we are. we do not favor to be like you. we've our cultures and languages and ideology. some white human beings hate that even more suitable than they hate blacks or asians searching for equality. that is why our children were stolen and beaten and our women sterilized acceptable up by potential of MY lifetime, no longer one hundred years in the past. your authorities remains attempting to wreck us.

They respected it, almost worshipped it. They were very "at one" with nature and truly appauled at the way the new settlers raped the land and had total disregard for it's gifts and beauty.
