I am 23 and just found out that I was pregnant. My fiance and I had unprotected sex the other night. Twins run in my family. What is the chance that I could be pregnant with twins. And at what week can I find out. We also had sex about 2 months ago and my period never came both months. Could I just be finding out now that I am pregnant?
If so will the sex that we had harm the baby?

Unless the doc told you not to have sex, then it is fine and no problem for the baby, you can have sex up till your water breaks unless the doc asks you to stop because of some problem! As for the just finding out thing, it is entirely possible you were pregnant then, and just didn't know it. When you go to the doc, point out that you missed both periods, and then they can usually tell by a pelvic exam between one month and two, also if it is in question, the will do a vaginal ultrasound, which does not hurt, and is the easiest way to measure the size of the baby so they know for sure, you wouldn't want them to be wrong by a month, then the baby might not have enough time to grow properly before they thought you were ready to deliver, so they will make sure your due date is accurate, trust me. There is a huge difference between a two month fetus and a one month one!! p.s. congrats ! As for the whole twin thing, if the twins in your family are fraternal, then you are more likely than the average woman to conceive twins, if they are identical, then you have the same chance as anyone else, since fraternal twins are a genetic trait where women tend to release two eggs rather than one, but identical ones are a fluke where the egg splits!

The sex will not harm the baby and you could very well be pregnant from the unprotected sex 2 months ago; that is the most likely. A blood test could give you a good idea if you had twins by the hormone level and soon you would be able to tell by an ultrasound. Good Luck and enjoy!

Yes, you could be pregnant from a month and a half/two months ago. Though the first trimester (3 months) are delicate, intercourse should not hurt the baby at all. In fact, it is important to be intimate during this time (hopefully with a life-long commitment between you two), especially for the new mom. You need love and support. See your md as soon as possible. Jamie (the other person answering is right about the ultrasound which will be a definite determiner of twins). Congratulations!!! Children are the best blessing in this life from the One who Intelligently designed us all...and you two are co-designers made in His image!!
Take care of your health immed. Stop smoking for now, if you do. No alcohol is recommended during this time as well. Get prenatal vitamins. You can find them at any store. God bless you both.

Not sure of the likelihood of twins but the sex you had didn't hurt the baby in any way. It is possible you're just now finding out about the pregnancy because not everyone has symptoms right away. You should be able to find out for sure if there are more than one by the 11th week or so.

What is up with you? Are you really 12 or 23? Do you really want to be pregnant with twins? How could you not know you are pregnant, if your other questions, you say you are pregnant? Get a pregnancy test and see your doctor.

yeah you could be a few wks pregnant and you will be able to find out how many and what sex around 4 -5 mos and having sex will not harm the baby...i think the more sex the more the baby looks like his father...what you should do is schedule a prenantal apptmnt and a doctor can tell you how many weeks your are by your last period....hope this helps take care

Sex wont harm the baby. At least it didnt with my two babies. I believe at or around 20 weeks you can get a good ultrasound to see sex and # of babies... Not for certain. And yes, if you missed the first period and then again, you could be further along then originally thought. Let the doctors know your not sure of conception date... They can usually judge by the size of the baby as to how far along you are.

Your probably pregnant from 2 months ago.
You should make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible to determine how far along you are.
If they do an ultrasound, they can determine if you are carrying twins probably now. You can tell as early as 6-7 weeks if it's twins.

I think you should probably stop lying, it is bad for you.
If you really want to know something about pregnancy then you should go to a clinic. People here won't be able to give you the information that you want.
If you want to have sex and you are pregnant then go for it, if you think that is going to hurt the baby then you need to understand biology a bit more, and probably shouldn't be having children.
