Some history lesson to some of you who tend to play forgetful, the Israelis are aliens who systematically emigrated from all around the world to Palestine and forced out the aboriginal inhabitants of colonial Palestine into diaspora. Do some reading about treaties and promises made by the allies to the Zionist Jews of Europe after fighting on their side in WWII.
Back to part of the question:
Supporting Israel is the "smart" decision taken by most American politicians to secure their place and career in the Senate or house of reps. That's evident when AIPAC is called on in as "experts" to testify about troubles in Palestine and to further push its own Zionist agenda. It doesn't matter if it were about the Democrats or Republicans, they always come together about blindly supporting Israel lest they lose big money and power connections. Whoever dare saying the facts as they are will be met by loads of blackmailing and everyone will cry: Antisemitism; despite the irrevelence.
Fighting back the oppression and daily humiliation and apartheid conducted by the purist Jewish state against Palestians is legal and legitimate resistance even if all the world cried TERRORISM to appease the Zionist American empire.

I couldn't agree with you more. The ratio of deaths between the Israeli's and Palestinians is horrendous. (1 Israeli for every 7.7 Palestinians) It's an atrocity that so many Americans are kept in the dark on the whole affair. There is no end to the reporting on the small scale attacks Palestine inflicts upon Israel, however in contrast, we rarely hear of the Palestinian casualties suffered at the hand of Israelis. It's gross, and our government is gross for supporting Israel.
**added: It never ceases to amaze me how much ignorance is displayed by the American people.

I don't see the problem. If the Paestinians would stop attacking, killing, and kidnapping Israelis, then Israel wouldn't respond. I have no problem with Israel's policy of swift and stern response.
I am by no means an expert, but I don't see any bad behavior on the part of Israel. And most people in the middle east refuse to acknowledge Israel's right to exist. What is Israel supposed to do about that? As far as I can tell, the crime Israel is accused of committing is existence.
All humans have a right to exist, and to defend themselves.

The Palestinians had it much better off when they were ruled by Israel than when they were allowed to rule themselves. It is their own leaders and terrorist organizations that bring all of their problems. When they were under Israeli rule before, they had some of the highest standards of living of any Arabs in the Middle East!

From what I understand from..a person from Isreal told me that there is no such thing as Palestine and these people claiming the land are basic squatters trying to steal Israel for themselves. Personally I think that Israel should give Palestine some land like the Gaza Strip and just leave them be..let them totally take care of all their issues.

What was wrong with giving them Gaza? Israel gave it to them and they rewarded them by launching rockets at them. They offered them the West bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem and they rewarded them with the deliberate targeting of civilians with homocide bombers.
