Granted, we need a language of our own, but in a sense we have one. We call it English, but it's not quite that either. We speak a hodge-podge of many languages here. Also, some words that the English use the people in the USA have a different meaning for (as in the word "knickers"). What I want to know is why are the English still so pissy with the Americans, is it cause we beat your butt and gained freedom? Or is it cause we have more money? lol

You are ignorant if you haven't noticed that America is the product of many people from many different backgrounds. We don't need to create a "language of our own" because there are already so many languages. Tagalog (Filipino), Spanish, French, Japanese, Mandarin, English, Punjabi, Portuguese, etc. As for the fat and lazy comment, there are fat and lazy people all over the world, and it has no connection to one's intelligence. Actually, before the Americas were settled by the Europeans, there were hundreds of languages spoken on this continent. The fact that we speak English is due to the eventual domintation of the English settlers on this continent.

AND, as any proud Brit will tell you, the English that we speak here in the US is NOT the same English that is spoken in the United Kingdom.

We do have our own language. We call our mothers mom not mum. Just because the USA uses some of the words from the British language does not mean we use them all. We also use French, Spanish etc. We are a diverse and unique nation, so please don't try to understand if you are from a tiny country.

dur dur. THERE IS NO OFFICIAL LANGUAGE. although english is widely spoken, there are other languages that ppl sepak. ie. spanish, french, german, chinese, and the list goes on.

just because engish "came from england" doesnt mean that only they speak it. its ****** spoken EVERYWHERE! even in the UAE (thats in the middle east if youre failing geography). They speak spanish in mexico and spanish came from spain. they speak german in austria and german came from germany.

and if the US EVER came up with a new language, itd mean having to teach 200 million ppl something new.
