It's not so much what you have to sell, as the presentation of the auction and your auction structure. Right competitive pricing and understanding how the bidding process works is key to your success. Basically, your success will be determined by your research and actions based on it. Study the financial structures of successful sellers' auctions. How they structure the auction for pricing..etc...reserve price, minimum bid price, shipping fees.
Always remember, value is relative to the item, and buyer.
In a kitchen with tap water running, I could not sell you a glass of water. In the desert miles from any water, I can get whatever price I ask.
