I probally one the most pro-gun people in America. One of the reasons I am so pro-gun is that shooting is one of the things I am best at and I hope to make a career out of it(assuming the democrats do get back in power). When anti-gun people tell me how "guns kill" I like to act suprised and say "OH MY GOD!, We've putting PEOPLE in jail this whole time!!!" and then just walk away, it's funny and usually works.

I think that guns need to be controlled to a point. I believe that handguns should be completely banned for civilian ownership. Long guns (hunting rifles and shotguns) should be legal for those who can prove they have a use for them (hunting, predator protection, hobby marksman etc). People who can't prove they have a use for such a thing, shouldn't be allowed to own them. I also think that guns should be kept at centralized locations. When you need to use your gun, you go to that location, specify what you are going to do, when the gun is to be returned, and then you return it when you are done. Guns should not be laying around in peoples homes.

I agree with you. Now I do believe that they should be locked up and away from children. But I do find it to be a basic Amercian right for me to own a handgun to protect my property and family, which I will do at all costs. When they outlaw guns, then only the outlaws will have guns.
