Reason, considering the first commandment was to avoid knowledge in the first place (the whole magic fruit thing).

There is a book by Henry Fairly called, "The Seven Deadly Sins Today." While he does not subscribe to the belief system behind them (Pride, Anger, Envy, Sloth, Gluttony, Lust and Greed), he writes eloquently about how they can be identified and utilized to mark human behavior. He views them as a guide for improvement, whether one is religious or not.
As for favorites, what an odd question. Any of them is an Achilles Heal that prevents becoming fully human and actualized.
You may as well ask what is one's favorite way to be injured?

I think that all of the sins can have positive manifestations, like pride driving people to make beautiful art, or help people to have a reason to feel proud of themselves(still a sin, indeed). Lust can create the most interesting stories and creatures in the world. Anger can stop injustice. Greed can cause others to want to rise above material possessions, and prevent others from being greedy. Gluttony means less food goes to waste. ;) Sloth keeps people from committing harm to others.Envy gives people something to overcome, and an emotion to learn to love and value what is yours, and others without mixing it up to the point of greed and malice.
As for me personally, my favorite sins are lust and anger, tied. I have to work on the second one...but the first one melts into love, and creates poetry...

i don't have a favorate sin. The one I hate the most is pride. Pride is the reason the devil turned from God you know, he was the most beautiful angel in heaven and he started thinking he's better than God. He still thinks it. Througout history, pride is the strongest thing he uses to control us...
If you look at all the people who did the most damage on earth, they all had this sin driving them.

Pride – at its best, a noble sentiment that promotes human dignity and love of life. Labeling it is a sin suggests the Christianity is what Nietzsche said it was: a philosophy of the abject, cringing, and servile.

Pride/envy, sloth/hatred, anger, lust/greed, in that order. I pair them up because sometimes they are opposed to each other, or I can only indulge in one at a time. If I am envious of someone, I realize my limitation compared to that person, and cannot be proud with respect to them. If I am being proud with respect to another person, I am not aware of any area in which I envy them.
