Wearing nylons with open-toe shoes are a fashion no-no!
Despite the fact that you personaly find it attractive, a woman wearing nylons with open-toe shoes is considered a fashion faux pas.
The "rule" is: Never wear nylons with open-toe shoes. Open-toe shoes should be worn with bare legs.
Your wife seems to have enough fashion sense in that regard. You, on the other hand, are thinking in sexual terms, not in fashionable terms....
So, have your wife dress accordingly in public, and have her dress the way YOU preffer her to look, IN PRIVATE.
Have fun!

You are right of course. It is something invented by some fashion ***** paid off by the cosmetic industry. It is done in Europe all the time, but the nylons there are much more sheer, as they were here a long time ago. Since the hosiery industry has been virtually abandoned in this country because of rising production costs, all the fine nylons are made in Europe, and the cheap ones in Taiwan,
Since the cosmetic industry is till very power full here, some fashion guru has convinces women that they can't be seen in open shoes with nylons. the rule is you can wear ultra sheer sandal foot nylons with any shoe. they make the foot much more sophisticated, and if you look closely at most commercials, you will see that they are being worn. They make the foot look longer and slimmer, and keep the toes from splaying out.

One of the reasons people resist the idea of wearing nylons and open-toed shoes is that hose have a tendency to get bunched at the toes. Since the whole point to strappy sandals is to show off your feet, you don't want to call attention to an unattractive attribute (such as bunchy nylon toes). This presents a bit of a fashion dilemma.
Here are a few tips for making it work.
Remember to go with a sandal toe in very pale, nude shades - just a touch of sheen adds a great, sophisticated look.
Save the reinforced toe hose for close-toed shoes, and avoid opaque tights with sandals.

No, I for one would not wear nylons with open-toed shoes. It looks ugly with the inseam stretching across your toes. Nylons with the toe part cut off can be bought in the store.

your mother is right, you should wear nylons with open toed shoes at a formal event. bare legs at any formal event is wrong. the bare leg look has gone too far, nylons are much more formal, and should be worn. wear sandal foot hose, and you will be fine. I do it often during the summer, and have had several compliments.

There are nylons available that will allow the toes to be exposed. I happen to think if you have regular pedicures you can away with not wearing nylons. However, it is never professional to have bear legs, nor is it appropriate for church, formal settings or court.

I don't like to wear nylons with open toed shoes either. I think it looks funny, so give her a break on this one.

NO!! I think it looks horrible! Nylons are not meant for open toed shoes, closed toe only.

Not to mention that it makes them hot, uncomfortable, and crabby! Buy your wife some of that new lotion with the subtle self-tanner instead of bugging her about the nylons. Then she can have silky legs with a gentle tan look without wearing pantyhose.

no no no... lol it is a big no no in fashion. it is tacky, not professional... women should not wear pantyhose with open toes. it does not look nice. if you like it maybe she can do it at home for you but in public women usually avoid that!
