Internal Revenue Service. They are the branch of the Department of the Treasury responsible for administering the federal tax code which is contained in United States Code Title 26. Taxes are the revenue that this country collects to run our government and programs. Few people probably believe that they are good for the country but without some level of taxes we would not be an orderly society.

The IRS is the Internal Revenue Service. They are the people who take care of monitoring and receiving everyone's taxes. They are neither good nor bad for the country, since they are necessary to keep the country going. People may fell that the IRS is bad, and at times they can seem unfair, but overall they take in the money from the people living here that keeps the country going.

You must be very young. The IRS or Internal Revenue Service are the people that are responsible to collecting taxes for the US Government. In other words "The Tax Man". There are many that would like to see the IRS go away, and as far away as possible, or preferably leave the planet all together. The reasoning is the tax code is so cumbersome and has many loop holes. This allows some people who have the knowledge to not pay taxes. Many have worked to go to a much simpler tax system, but have been unsuccessful as yet. Taxes pay for all government Programs such at Welfare, Military, National Parks. the list is very long. Is it good or bad? Its the only one we have right now, so just keep those tax cuts coming!

It's the Internal Revenue Service. They're the part of the government in charge of making sure everyone pays their federal taxes.
They're not really good or bad for the country because they don't make the tax laws, they just enforce them. It's Congress that's really the problem. Some times a president uses the IRS to hassle their enemies, but that's a problem of a bad president, not the IRS.
The U.S. tax system is too complicated but, again, that's Congress' fault. If we went to a flat tax system where it would be easy for everyone to know what tax they owe, we wouldn't need a huge, expensive IRS to enforce all the tax laws. And we could save billions of dollars every year.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is the United States government agency that collects taxes and enforces the tax laws. The IRS is a bureau of the Department of the Treasury. The official U.S. Treasury regulations provide (in part):
The Internal Revenue Service is a bureau of the Department of the Treasury under the immediate direction of the Commissioner of Internal Revenue. The Commissioner has general superintendence of the assessment and collection of all taxes imposed by any law providing internal revenue. The Internal Revenue Service is the agency by which these functions are performed.

Internal Revenue Service that takes taxes out of our pay checks. It is an unproportianate tax that is actually illegal according to the Constitiution. These taxes are supposed to be proportioned to the population in your state. The government has been screwing us for years this way and noone ever raises a hand about it. Too much apathy in this country.

The Internal Revenue Service is the section of the government that makes sure everyone is paying taxes on their income, and reporting what income they have. I don't know if it's good or bad, just that they can put you in jail if you lie to them!

It collects the taxes that Congress has approved. Congress decides how much to collect & how to spend it. The IRS is really just a clearinghouse of our tax money. A vicious one when it comes to collecting money though.
It is not good or bad since it makes no decision for us.

Internal revenue service center that you usually pay taxes to when you file your federal income taxes in april. people usually pay taxes to help run the country, like to hire workers to fix and build buildings, roads, highways. these are improvements that helps to make our lives easier. but some people hate the IRS cuz they don't like to pay the taxes.
