I am always moody to the people that I know and care about, but nice to the people I barely know and dont really care about, does this make sense?

something is eating you up inside...a journal really helps when you put your thoughts down on paper, things suddenly begin to make sense. You end up answering your own questions and realizing what is truly important to you, ei, what you want out of life, your friends, your career, etc.. Don't just write stuff like I ate then went to bed and my sister was a b*itch. Write stuff like, while I was driving home from work, my mind was wandering and I kept thinking about *_______(insert issue). most people think of solutions or scenarios to issues that are importatn to them, make sure you write those out to. those are the kind of things that will help you figure out your moods. You must be a good person at heart because you are nice to strangers. You may need some alone time to start your journal, a couple of days or so...take a weekend to yourself and start by writing a list of things you think about most. if that doesn't help you, go to counseling, it does not mean you are crazy is simply means you need help climbing barriers, your unhappy mood is a big barrier if you realize it or not, it will effect your relationships and job, and school, and everything important to you.

It makes perfect sense. You might want to try talking to a counselor or another professional about this. It's hard to be a positive and happy person when you are just not feeling it inside. I went through a lot of problems with depression, but working through it was easier than being a moody, unhappy person.

Plus now that I have my depression under control I can finally say that I really, truly am happy. But I couldn't have done it without the support of friends and my counselor, who helped me see what the bigger problems in my life were. Good luck with it.

Add some activity to your life... get out (sunlight helps elevate mood), exercise a little, talk about your feelings/thoughts with those close to you, don't sweat the small stuff. You also may benefit from meds such as lexipro.

You might have something like a mood disorder--go to a good doctor and tell him/her honestly what is going on. It might just be a temp thing and could be correctable...so give it a try...Good Luck

i've had the same problem many times, it sounds like either depression or drug addiction, and i don't get the feeling you're an addict or an alcoholic

maybe you have a mental health condition, a chemical inbalance or something ... you could see a therapist and see what they say. .. it's probably nothing but who knows.
