This man has basically spit on the sacrifices that our soldiers have made in blood. Thousands of our men died trying to secure Iraq. My friend nearly lost his life serving there. He shamed our country
For all of the crimes private green has committed his clemency is denied!
What do you think

if convicted hand him over to iraqi atuhorities let them deal with it -and i'm sure he will get his death scentence carried out faster that way, and it will send a signal to the other us troops --DONT do what he did.

It occurs to me that we should send him (and the others "alleged" to have been involved) back to Iraq for trial.

The underlying premise of the question is a good one - if true, these soldiers' actions (rape and murder) undermine everything that we are there to accomplish. Accordingly, what better way to right the wrong than to let the Iraqis conduct a fair trial. After all, aren't we attempting to assure the world that Saddam is, in fact, receiving a fair trial.

Moreover, what about all of the other instances when we are seeking foreign governments to turn over suspects that have committed atrocious crimes here in the States? It would set a great precedent to send these men back and have them tried in Iraq - whatever the sentence may be.

I understand your point. My husband is over there right now on his 3RD TOUR OF DUTY!! And he came close to getting hit..Thank God he is okay..Yes, people like GREEN should be punished to the fullest extent of the law..And I mean Iraq's laws..he is a US solider (if you can call him that) However, the crime commited was barbaric!! No innocent person should ever be hurt like that..no matter where they live!! Remember we cannot judge the military as a whole on what a FEW JackASSES DO!! It angers me to no extent as I am proud of my husband, and most are supportive however it does hurt when he is refered to a babykiller,or a warlover..he is none of those things..he is doing the job he signed up to do..I hope GREEN and the rest involved ROT!!
