I went off the pill over a month ago. I thought that I got my period, which started around the time I was suppose to start my period, but instead it was brownish coloured and lasted around 3 days. Is this my period trying to get back to normal or could I be pregnant?

I'm going to get a pap test done on Thursday, but I just wanted to know what your take was on it.

I was on the pill for 6 years and went off because my fiance and I would like to start a family someday soon. So the possibility of being pregnant at this time is big. But I have no clue since I got every pregnancy symptom in the book, but was probably from getting off the pill. So I think it's a good idea to ask for a test when I go for my appointment, just incase.

Mine gets brown sometimes at the beginnning and/or at the end. I hate it. Nasty. And come to think of it, it hasn't been so bad since I stopped the pill. I would say it is an adjustment.

The pill is weird. Apparently it should cause us not to have a period, but they made it so it will, just because.

I was on the pill for 6.5 years and when I quit it I had a normal period blood look like, however I remember one time about a year ago I had a period like the one you are describing and it happened to be bacteria, there is no need for your blood to be like that, It shouldn't and getting off the pill will not cause your blood to be like that. I also got pregnant the first month we tried after i got off the pill and even when pregnant I did not have a discharge like yours, actually I did not get any bleeding at all. You might have something going on so a paps will be great for you. But like I said, getting off the pill does not have anything to do with that brown discharge you had.

well you didnt say if you were being sexually active or not but i would say its either you could be pregnant and its implantation or its just your body getting itself back to normal since your now off of the pill.. Ask your GYN during your appointment that you would like a pregnancy test also

Brown means old blood not fresh new blood. An embryo sometimes causes bleeding while implanting on the walls of the uterus.
