Last year, one had partial loss, this year there is a male with all feathers gone above his neck, another bald on top of head, another with partial feather loss on head.

These birds are losing their spring feathers.

Cardinals are only brightly colored in the spring, when they typically mate.

Two major possibilities: Molting or mites. With many other birds it is molting, but Cardinals more rarely that, but it still can be. Mites is another big issue. Check out the link below for a full article.

Sounds like your cardinals could be fighting. Sometimes bluejays kill baby cardinals. Don't really know.

they could be molting, most if not all birds do
