No: they just might be extra-sensitive. They might have experienced such hurt in the past, that they see it where none is intended.

Also, just because no offense is "offered" or intended, it doesn't mean that nothing offensive is present. Offense, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

I don't know about them being thieves{doesn't make sense},but they could be idiots.
