France's arrogance is more subtle and often for effect.
America's arrogance is for real. America thought the world would follow them into Iraq and it didn't happen. In their government's arrogance they claimed to have a lot of counties fighting on their side in this conflict. This is true arrogance when you see who the list consists of. Tonga comes to mind.
What do think is the problem with N. Korea. It would appear to be the result of a mixture of ignorance and arrogance and had backfired. One would never see .Britain pull some of the stunts that have been taking place..Even France would do it more subtly.
Only arrogance would break treaties and refuse to sign others that are not in their interests only.

1. The Colonies would have never gained their independence without the help of the French.
2. France has a millennial culture, which has permeated onto the very lives of every western human being.
3. The English language is stuffed with thousands of French words and verbs.
4. Many French people died for the American revolution.
5. Sure the US aided France and Europe in WW2, but NOT WITHOUT interests!!!
6. The fact that France (as well as most of the EU) did not suport America's "war on terror" speaks of how intellectually evolved the EU nations are as a whole. England, Spain, Italy and Poland should know better.
7. The French are indeed some arrogant pricks, but at least they do have something to BRAG about.
On and on and on and on....

France... where to begin?
Most of what needs to be said about France has been said. I didn't believe (want to believe) that the stereotype of the rude French was true.... I thought it was either all made up or grossly exaggerated... I was wrong on both counts. Had a layover at De Gaulle, I was polite and did my best not to speak English, said please and thank you and was still met with rudeness and disgust... imagine my suprise after spending my adult life not believing such "nonsense" about the French. When the first people you meet (in the service industry no less) treat people the way they do, you lose A LOT of respect.
Set aside the politics (and I have plenty)... they are not nice people.

umm lets clarify something. the only reason the us got involved with the war was to further their pockets and move themselves up economically. they joined the ally powers brits and french and were loosing the war. russia who sacraficed 26 million men because hitler prematurley invaded russia is what won the war. it had nothing to do with the ally powers. so in turn america has not PAID back france. they were loosing. when we look at americans and their arrogance you should rephrase it and call it ignorance. american people slapped the face of the haloucaust on the war and said they were freedom fighters. in a sense that is true but that was not the only motives for it. economical advances is what fueled american involvement in the war. we can see this because obviously the use of oil was comming into play even more transitioning from the use of coal and the british, zionist and americans banned together and helped this cause by taking over israel which is said to be their religious rights as jews to have it. the land that is now israel was owned a little by jordan, saudi arabia, egypt, etc.. so what the british did was go to these countries make who is in power now royalty over the countries for exchange of the land. this set in play for british, zionist and americans to have access to the comming oil that would become the worlds economical interest. if you look at the history of colonization you see that france has had a huge chunck of arab countries. many arab nations have died fighting french occupation fighting for independence. the people of america are mostly ignorant and poorly educated on the whole issue. if you think about it americans are taught that we won the war, not taught it was russia who sealed the deal, many americans believe that muslims are extremeists and fighting a religious war when no one seems to see that the reason israel is in existance is because the zionist NOT THE JEWS made this occupation about religion. by claiming it to be their long lost holy land. so they are in fact the ones who turned this into a holy war. the arabs had no part in the haloucaust so why is it their land that has been over taken?. france is geographically close to arab countries unlike america. american people fail to realize that the average french citizen has knowledge on what goes on with in arab countries. a majority of the people who live on their land are muslim and refuse to support a war where their fellow muslim brothers and sisters are salughtered for the sake of land and oil. the french people are more active when it comes to voting and the countries ethics. they are more skeptakle when it comes to occupation because they do not believe everything that the media sprouts out. now with americans only hearing bits and pieces of the media and beliving the government's lies this is why they are ignorant and arrogant into beliving that they are soley right. "freedon fighters" which in the end they know nothing of liberating people since the liberation of the nazi oppression of the jews.

If You witnessed the abuse our troops had to endure during the last years of our units being in France a better understanding of the hard feelings could be yours. The french quickly forgot how we saved their butts in two wars and donated so much to help their faltering governments keep going. Having spent time there I know there are good people but the people in power really resent our taking their place at the top of the ladder in world politics. They forget why they lost prestige and blame us. The socialist programs are breaking the country and poor work habits are destroying the last industries they have. When you compare France to Germany it is easy to see why the french lost so often.
The United States deserves attitude because we stand alone in defense of democratic ideals. A few other countries like Great Britain and Germany help out but they are like independent states and not the big dealers we are.

Who cares. I'll continue to hate France just b/c they are French. Where do you get off comparing us to the French. We do more for the world then the French does. Be pay 30% of the UN's income, which goes to starving people and countries that need it. I don't think there is the slightest comparison.
The French helped us gain our independence b/c they thought they'd get something in return, such as land. But we stiffed um on that one. We saved thier @sses and we get nothing but critisim and secondguessing from them. I say forget um. Who cares if they hate us, in the end, we are not french.

The US has always been the most arroganmt country in the world, and Americans are the most arrogant nationality on earth. It may not be very overt or conscious, but it is definitely there.

Americans hate France because they think everyone in the world should LOVE this country, and have the "love it or leave it" mentality.
There is no more stupid person in the world, who utters the phrase, "love it or leave it man"! Then they complain about Social Security, Medicare and Welfare.
Americans are hypocrites.
