Brit Pop as a movement was sort of discredited as after the initial rush of new bands and music around 1994/5/6, any band who came along were labelled by the press as Britpop
Blue are still going, not officially disbanded and I expect Damon will get a new album together inbetween Gorillaz albums. James Dean Bradfield, lead singer of the manics has a new album out on Sony in the UK right now.Suede split up a couple of years ago, Republica had two albums nearly 10 years ago and split up, I suspect their sales weren't that high on the second album, but Saffron was a looker! Garbage, still around I thought? Skunk Anansie, hmm, I think Skin still does some solo stuff.
Good new bands, you don't really say what kind of music you want. Stuff that's new, and doing well in Britain right now..
Muse - Black Holes and Revelations - fully over the top rock pomp with some dancey tracks.
Kooks - inside in/inside out - nice mix of styles
Lily Allen - Alright still - reckoned to be the flavour of the month this summer in the UK - female version of the streets
The Feeling - twelve stops and home - indie pop

Garbage just released a CD a year or so ago, but the only single I heard from it was lame.
The lead singer of Pulp [another Brit Pop band] was in the Harry Potter movie!
The Manics are still around, just not as cool as they used to be. Now the lead singer and the base player, James Dean Bradfield and Nicky Wire, are putting out solo albums. The band's last CD, though, Lifeblood, was pretty good.

Suede have kind of got back together, least the singer and guitarist, they're called 'The Tears' now, and their album was pretty good. Listen to Belle and Sebastian, they're AMAZING!
