you should ask yourself what zidane said to materazzi as well! both men exchanged words and i read that when materazzi grabbed zidane by the chest before the headbutt, zidane looked at materazzi and said something like, "if you want my shirt, you can get it after the game..." and then something about giving his shirt to materazzi's wife or girlfriend. regardless what materazzi said...ITALY WON and they won FAIRLY! what is the big deal that zidane got the red card, i guess france cannot win without him then...plus he got the golden ball award anyway, so the french supporters need to stop their crying and accept that they were beat by italy. if materazzi truly did say something racist, zidane could have told the ref about it during the game. plus, why is he taking forever to tell everyone what was said, it was probably not as bad as everyone thinks. materazzi gave his statement, so i guess we do not know anything for sure until zidane speaks.

he said:" i didnt call him a terrorist or insult his religion, i am not cultured n i dont wots an Islamic terrorist. i didnt say a racist comment to him n i didnt insult his mother, mothers r sacred for me. its true that i insulted him but it was a kind of insult that goes around the pitch n which no one notices."

i can assure u that he didnt insult his mother cause he lost his own only when he was 14.
