I have the worst case of writers block in the world. I write childrens books in rhyme form (the ABCB method) and have always been able to come up with witty rhymes very very quickly.

But now one stanza takes all day... WHAT DO I DO!?

Get your creative juices flowing again by doing some mindless writing. Go to a coffee shop with your notebook and eavesdrop on a nearby table, writing down what they say and making up the things that might have led to that conversation. Write down every word you can think of that starts with a certain letter. Write the stupidest, most inane rhymes you can think of until eventually they start to actually make sense. :) Make lists of restaurants where you like to eat, fruits, movies you've seen, states you've visited. Sometimes a little senseless writing is all it takes to make me feel more creative again.

You could also do something completely unrelated - a crossword, logic, or sudoku puzzle, for example - to "sharpen" your brain a little bit!

1. get a rhyming dictionary
2. think of it more as a puzzle than a stanza. maybe take the pieces of the puzzle to be the rhyming words, how many syllables you need for a certain word, etc. and just fill in the blanks. at least you've decided on ABCB so you have a predetermined framework for the puzzle
3. do some automatic writing; don't think, just write and either you'll subconsciously come up with something or just relieve some writing stress. like a warm-up

I'm with Bono, try some automatic writing. It can be freeing.

Lots of people have also suggested walking away from the work and that may help. However, sometimes you just have to scrap what you're working on and start over. Can you get the same story across in a new way? Try working it from the end to the beginning, or doing a completely different story (maybe not in such a restrictive rhyme scheme).

Good luck!

Sometimes when I have writers block I just have to walk away from it for a while. There are many methods you can use. If it is really bad...try them all! lol. I've had to do that before. You are not the only one with this problem. I'm having the same problem right now with my own stuff.

It sounds like you're trying too hard. Get away from it, preoccupy your mind with something else for a bit, then go back to it. Maybe that will help... Or don't go back to it until inspiration hits!

I hang out with my kids and the ideas usually start flow again. One line is all it takes to build from.
