I used to own a Leyland Princess back in the 80`s in Sweden.
It was an excellent car and never gave me any problems.
Are there still some of these cars on the road in the UK ?

Yes there are still Princess still running in the UK so pleased that you liked the car.In some ways it was ahead of its time admittedly the build quality was not the greatest.Apart from the Citroen DS19/21 the suspension system was remarkable for its time.I worked on them for many years and have some happy memories of doing so.Unfortunatley Leyland at the time did not invest enough in their products now we have no car industry to speak of i am as guilty as the rest i now drive an Audi!Nice to have contacted you Regards Mike

Honestly, the last time I saw one Princess (or even the Ambassodor) was in the early 90's.

Problem was the were Austin / British Leyland...and build quality was not that great! Neither was the rust proofing (none), or engine life (most drank OIL like it was a consumable product...maybe a litre for every 1000 miles if you had a good one!!)

You can't even see them in scrap yards!! I think all but a very few cherished & well polished examples have died.

I have personally never seen any, but I guess, like many others, there is an owners' club in existence somewhere. I'd be surprised if there are many though, because despite your opinion of the car, from what I can remember it was a notorious rust bucket, I would imagine most of them have just fallen to pieces by now
