In the eyes of the government and most insurance agencies, you are just "committed partners". I think there's nothing wrong with the two of you referring to one another as "husband" if you want too, though.

This is really a personal choice for the couple. Some may say 'significant other' or 'partner'. As for me, I am having a commitment ceremony in August, and we will call each other husband. Like I said, it is all up to the couple.

Natures 'couple' is female and male. Its been so for hundreds of years and is the only way generations are kept. Husband and wife are when two such beings legally promise to be together to continue the cycle. Produce offspring just the way nature intended. Committed to each other, their offspring and the nature.

Two men cannot do this. Therefore are committed partners. Committed to each other.

I've seen a couple commitment ceremonies and the minister said, "I now pronounce you partners for life." So I'd agree with partners.

just committed partners...You didn't go through the marriage process yet with the "i do" thingie. So you two are just partners...but just celebrating that the fact that you two are engaged...or just together...thats all. Well at least that is what i think you are asking.

I would think whatever they want to call themselves...their decision. I don't have a preference...I call my partner my partner and also my wife. we have had a commitment ceremony.

Not in the state of Georgia, I see nothing wrong with the same sex marriage. I gay and I don't want people telling me I can't have a husband.

ROsie ODonell calles her partner her wife but I have not yet heard a man call another man his husband....Why can't gays call their union a Gayrraige instead of marraige? Is it too much to ask?
