Some of my family is from Russia and I've always wanted to go there because it seems very mysterious and I'd like to know a little bit more about my culture, but I hear very bad things about the living situation over there so I was wondering if its worth going to and if so where?

I lived in Moscow for 3 months and it was truly one of the best and most rewarding times of my life. I love Russia. I love the people, the culture, the food... it's really a great place. It's absolutely beautiful. Of course, you will not have American-style luxuries, but that's easy to look past. If you don't go, you will regret it. I highly recommend Moscow. It's a crazy town, there's always something to do, somewhere to go, and something to see... it's non-stop excitement... lots of fun!

Not sure where in Russia you should go.. Maybe Mosco. Try searching all parts of Russia on the internet for more info. I'm sure if you go, you will be surprised at how much you will learn about your background and you can go back home, closer to your family.

I think you should go.But everything depends if you are accustomed to see anything that you don't like.I live in Ukraine and it's like Russia so for me it is OK to go there. But Russia and America are different.Nevertheless I would advise you to go to Russia.
