She is said to be "an AIDS orphan", which I presume means her parents died of the disease, but she could still be free from the disease.

Why do you care? Just coz she's from Africa? I mean - luckily enough Angelina's got the money to take care of her. Sadly the people who she left behind do not.
(BTW - I think she does not. Her parents had it and that's why Zahara was orphaned.)

No, she was unsure when she had adopted her, but they have since tested her and the results came back negative.
